Is the use of Sustainability Declaration v4.0 template mandatory?

The use of the provided ISCC PLUS Sustainability Declaration template is not mandatory.

System users may develop and use their own Sustainability Declaration template provided that it contains all mandatory information required by ISCC PLUS.

It is important to note that:

• SD v4.0 becomes mandatory from 1 January 2027.

• Organizations using their own template must ensure that all mandatory requirements contained in SD v4.0 are incorporated.

• A transition period applies until 31 December 2026, during which SD v3.6 may still be used.

Additionally following is also recommended:

• Using the latest version of Microsoft 365 to ensure full functionality of SD v4.0 features such as checkboxes.

• Saving the template in .xlsx format rather than .xls format.

• Consulting the Sustainability Declaration Template Guidance Document for detailed implementation instructions.
