Is a self-declaration required when renewable electricity is sourced with Guarantees of Origin in the European Union?

No, a self-declaration is not required when renewable electricity is sourced and used within the EU and the renewable claim is proven with Guarantees of Origin (GoOs). However, the GoOs must cover the amount of electricity claimed as renewable and must be cancelled; proof of cancellation must be available for the auditor.
