Is it allowed to inject RFNBO-H₂ into the EU interconnected gas grid infrastructure?

Modified on Thu, 7 Aug at 3:53 PM

According to the European Commission communication document “Guidance on the targets for the consumption of renewable fuels of non-biological origin in the industry and transport sectors” (Chapter 2.2), injecting RFNBO-H2 into the EU interconnected gas grid infrastructure is allowed, provided that hydrogen is physically separated from the other gases contained in the grid. ISCC EU’s requirements for mass balance and traceability apply.
